One of the things I found most encouraging was that Eddie really "gets it". The book has sometimes been categorized as a missionary biography, but really it's just the story of God's pursuit of a thirsty fool. A man thirsty for God, but foolishly looking for Him in all the wrong places. The fact that I am a missionary is not the point. Eddie gets that.
